The maintenance before running-in is to prevent accidents and damage to the car and ensure that the car can successfully complete the running-in period. The main tasks are as follows.
1. Cleaning
Clean the whole car, check the connection of all parts of the whole car, and the exposed bolts and nuts of the whole car must be fastened securely.
2. Check and add fuel and lubricating oil
Before driving a new car, each lubricating part should be filled with enough lubricating oil or grease according to regulations. When using gasoline or diesel with the specified label, if the fuel label has to be changed, the fuel supply system and ignition system should be adjusted accordingly.
3. Check and replenish coolant to eliminate the phenomenon of "four leaks"
Check and replenish the coolant of the radiator, and check and eliminate the oil leakage, air leakage, water leakage and electric leakage of the whole vehicle.
4. Check the technical condition of the chassis
Check whether each gear of the transmission can be changed correctly; check whether there is looseness and jamming in each part of the steering mechanism; check and adjust the tire pressure. When a chassis fault such as the transmission or steering system is found, the car should be sent to the factory for maintenance in time.
5. Inspection of electrical system
Check whether the electrical equipment, lights and instruments work normally, and check the specific gravity and liquid level of the battery electrolyte.
6. Check braking system performance
Check the performance of the braking system, test the car to check the braking distance, whether there are deviations and brake bite and so on. If it does not meet the requirements, the reasons should be identified and eliminated in time.
